Before your appointment...

What you do before your appointment is nearly as important as what you do after. Here are some dos and don'ts to make your time in the chair go smoothly

  • DO drink plenty of fluids starting 2-3 days before

  • DO use a gentle moisturizer on the area to be tattooed 2-3 days before

  • DO get a good night's worth of sleep the night before

  • DO eat a healthy, well-rounded meal 1-2 hours before your appointment

  • DO bring a beverage and a snack, especially for longer tattoo appointments

  • DON'T drink alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment

  • DON'T show up to your appointment under the influence of any drugs

  • Please keep guests to a minimum.

After your appointment...

Now it's time to care for your new tattoo. Here are my recommendations for proper healing based on my experience.

  • Leave your wrap on for 3-5 hours. If you received a second skin type bandage, leave it on for 24 hours.

  • Immediately after removing the wrap, wash the tattoo in warm soapy water using plain liquid Dial (no bar soaps, body washes, or scented soaps), using your fingertips to scrub the tattoo gently. Rinse the tattoo in cold water.

  • Carefully pat the tattoo dry with a paper towel (no wiping) and allow 5-10 minutes to air dry.

  • Using clean hands, apply a thin layer of Aquaphor or any plain white unscented lotion (i.e. Curel, Lubriderm). DO NOT use any antibiotic ointments of anything petroleum-based as these will hinder the healing processes of your skin.

  • Repeat this process 2-3 times daily until fully healed.

Here are some things to avoid during the healing process:

  • Do not pick or scratch at any scabs that form as that will lead to scarring and gaps in ink coverage.

  • Do not apply any other bandages to your tattoo. If the tattoo needs to be covered, use light-fitting clothing.

  • Do not submerge your new tattoo in water. This means no swimming, hot tubs, or bathtubs. Use caution while showering to avoid saturating the tattoo with water.

  • Please keep your pets away from your tattoo. If your pets sleep in bed with you, change the sheets and try to keep them out until the tattoo is fully healed.

  • Avoid having your tattoo out in direct sunlight. Once the tattoo is fully healed, use a strong sunblock to keep the tattoo looking fresh.

Booking your appointment

All appointments require a consultation to agree on a concept and placement. These can be done either through text or email unless the tattoo is a cover-up and must be done in person.

I require a $100 deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable and applied to the final session of your tattoo.

I understand that life is unpredictable at times but 24 hours' notice must be given to reschedule your appointment or the deposit is forfeited.
